This weekend heats up with the arrival of the Nike KD 7 “35,ooo Degrees”. The colorway was initially dubbed the “DMV” based off its resemblance to its Nike KD 5 counterpart. As Nike Basketball tells it, the 35K represents Kevin Durant’s lightening hot game on the court, striking in several directions with white hot speed and precision.
The KD 7 colorway narrative begins with lightning, and more specifically the average temperature of a lightning strike – 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. It also builds on KD’s insight of wanting to be lightning-quick. The KD 7 35,000 Degrees colorway features a bright mango upper, volt outsole and hits of deep grey to represent the electric nature of lightning strikes. Stratospheric graphics and nods to lightning also appear on the sole and Swoosh. The kicks see an upper controlled by a brazen bright mango colorway that pops off the shoe. Nike favorite “volt” plays the accents on on the sole as well as Max unit. Tying it all together is a light grey.
The Nike KD 7 “35,000 Degrees” is set to release tomorrow, July 12, 2014 at select Nike Basketball retailers, including Sneaker Politics. Inspired by lightning, and more specifically the average temperature of a lightning strike – 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Dressed in a Mango-based upper with Space Blue, Grey and Volt accents.
