One of the features sneakers celebrating Black History Month is going to be this special edition Nike KD 10 BHM that’s dropping on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The sneaker is basically covered in black for its flyknit upper with red and green knitted detailing throughout to reflect the Pan-African flag’s colors. A white midsole and the Pan-African flag is also seen on the heel, while metallic gold branding and a memorable date of 05-06-2014 is embossed on the medial side to complete the theme altogether.
Kevin Durant’s latest signature shoe, the Nike KD 10 is also part of the 2018 Black History Month Collection which launches on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
This Nike KD 10 features a Black, Green, Red, Metallic Gold and White color combination which streamlines with the other Black History Month releases. Using Black across the uppers along with Red and Green accents. The midsole uses the Pan-African flag colors while Metallic Gold is used. Finishing the look is the historical date of 05-06-2014 embossed on the lateral side just about the midsole.
Kevin Durant’s upcoming Nike KD 10 “BHM” release comes packaged with traditional themes of Pan African colors around the Leo Chang-designed shoe. But what does the date of May 6th, 2014, which is debossed below the Swoosh, signify? It’s actually the date that the mayor of Oklahoma City Mary Fallin declared ‘Kevin Durant Day’ as a gesture of gratitude to KD’s contributions to the community. He’s obviously re-located to the Bay Area, but his community-driven efforts have not skipped a beat as he continues his outreach efforts in the SF/Oakland area. The Nike KD 10 “BHM” will be available on January 15th, 2018 for $150.
